Important Safety/Recall Notices

Metabo Corporation takes product safety matters seriously and continuously tests products to assure safe operation. An internal quality audit has found that under heavy use conditions, metal dust can build up in the switch of the Rat tail angle grinder with brake, causing it to stick in the on position. Because of the potential for injury, a product recall has been initiated.

Three Products are concerned by this recall:

• WEPBA 17-150 QUICK RT DS, 6” ANGLE GRINDER, ORDER NO. 600606420, EAN/UPC Number 4007430320261
• WEPB 19-180 RT DS 7” ANGLE GRINDER, ORDER NO. 601096420,  EAN/UPC Number 4007430314284

with the serial numbers  70300xxxxx through 70700xxxxx.

This recall involves Metabo W14-150 Ergo series 6-inch medium angle grinders. The angle grinders have a green body, a black and red handle, and a silver head and wheel guard. The grinders measure about 16 inches long by 4 inches wide by 5 inches deep, have a 6-inch wheel capacity and weigh about eight pounds. Metabo is printed on the handle and Metabo 14-150 Ergo is printed on the side of the grinder. The grinders are used for grinding and cutting metal.  Model numbers include 06251421 and 06251441 and serial numbers include 3010000001 through 4020031488 for both models. The model and serial numbers are located on the rating plate on the right side of the tool.
